Making the Most of Black Friday

Thanksgiving is just around the corner…and that means that Black Friday is almost here as well.  I’ve written a couple of times about my Black Friday experiences, which essentially have not been fun.  The other day, I saw an online article titled “Top Tips for a Safe and Sane Black Friday.”  That title alone elicited my initial response of “Yeah.  Stay home.”  But I continued reading, and discovered these tips:

  1. Keep a cool head when you’re in a line or wrangling for position among other hungry shoppers.
  2. Check for online coupons before you venture out; they may be required for certain specials.
  3. Beware of deals that aren’t really deals at all.  In fact, some online retailers offer items at the same or lower prices as those Black Friday specials.
  4. Make sure you get the correct credit card back after your purchase.

Now, all of this is good advice.  But I’ll go back to my initial response above.  Stay home…
