Our Favorite All-Time Movie Lines – Where are They From?

Here are the details about the top 5 favorite movie lines from last Wednesday’s post:

5.  “Here’s looking at you, kid.”Humphrey Bogart (Rick Blaine) in Casablanca, 1942

4.  “I’ll have what she’s having.”Estelle Reiner (deli customer) in When Harry Met Sally, 1989

3.  “I’m going to make him an offer he can’t refuse.” –  Marlon Brando (Don Corleone) in The Godfather, 1972

2.  “Go ahead, make my day.”Clint Eastwood (Dirty Harry Callahan) in Sudden Impact (the fourth film in the series), 1983

1.  “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.”Clark Gable (Rhett Butler) in Gone With The Wind, 1939

It’s interesting to compare this list to the top 5 movie quotes according to the American Film Institute:  “Here’s looking at you, kid;” “Toto, I’ve got a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore” (from The Wizard of Oz); “You don’t understand! I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I could’ve been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am” (from On The Waterfront); “I’m going to make him an offer he can’t refuse;” and “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.”  By the way, Make my day was AFI’s number 6, but I’ll have was only number 33 on the list!  Oh, come on, that’s a great line…
