The USO – Avenue of the Americas Summerfest!

During the Fourth of July weekend, my wife and I went to the USO Summerfest on Avenue of the Americas(Sixth Avenue) between 42nd and 56th Streets.

Weekends between May and November each year, designated streets and avenues inManhattanare closed to vehicle traffic and turn into pedestrian traffic as thousands of people visit the many vendors of crafts, food, and miscellaneous items for sale.  The USO Summerfest stretched a full 14 blocks, and we made our way through the fair in a couple of hours.

One of the best things about the location of this fair was the magnificent view of Sixth Avenue, Bryant Park, and the Empire State Building– making it well worth the visit!  You can see a complete schedule of the street fairs at http://www.nycstreetfairs.com.  Enjoy!
