The Full Moon Effect Returns

Spending almost 3 hours a day commuting in my car gives me the opportunity (I won’t say pleasure, because it’s not) to see some pretty strange things and stupid moves.  On one trip home last week, there was an accident on theTappan ZeeBridge.  Even it happened in the westbound lanes, eastbound traffic was also backed up because of rubbernecking.  Fortunately, I heard about it on the radio, and stayed on thePalisades Parkway…only to be stuck in a minor backup by the spot where a car had overturned and was lying on its side by the side of the highway.  Once I got past that, I thought it would be smooth sailing.  I should have known better.  I passed and was delayed by at least half a dozen left lane lovers, including one guy doing about 40 mph in the left lane, flashers on, with nobody in sight in the right lane!

To top it off, I then heard on the radio about 3 people who had attempted suicides that morning by jumping off local bridges.  When I got home, I immediately looked at the calendar.  Lo and behold, the full moon was only 2 days away!  More proof of the full moon effect…
