Some Really Interesting Bars in New York City

A recent edition of New York magazine ran a piece they called “Bartifacts,” which listed 9 bars in the city with some very interesting artifacts.  Check these out:

  • Silent Barn in Brooklyn  – a refrigerated human skull
  • Happy Ending near the Bowery – a swan mirror (it’s a former massage parlor)
  • Art Bar in the West Village – a contemporary Last Supper mural
  • Red Hook Bait & Tackle in Brooklyn – a collection of taxidermy and fishing memorabilia
  • The Diamond in Brooklyn – a ski lift gondola
  • Spuyten Duyvil in Brooklyn – a Jesus bust on the bar
  • Dead Poet on the Upper West Side – a backward-printed poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Red Planet
  • Bedlam in the East Village – bathroom wallpapered with mug shots
  • Bushwick Country Club in Brooklyn – a mini golf course, with an operating windmill made from Pabst Blue Ribbon cans.

It just proves the point that you can indeed find almost anything in New York City…
