Save Money on Your Holiday Shopping

Most people want to save money, particularly at this time of year.  If you’re one of them, you may enjoy these holiday shopping tips from yesterday’s edition of The Wall Street Journal Sunday

  • Look beyond discounts – add-ons (for example, a free gift card with a certain purchase) can be just as valuable as reduced prices
  • Hold out for free shipping – a lot of retailers (2 that I found are Target and Best Buy) are waiving shipping fees as an incentive
  • Bring a smartphone shopping with you – it may sound strange, but some retailers are offering discounts to Facebook friends and Twitter followers, and you’ll need proof
  • Rethink Black Friday – many large retailers are opening atmidnight, so shop then, rather than battling the early morning crowds
  • Don’t rely on Cyber Monday – traditionally, great deals have been available on the Monday after Black Friday; but you may be able to get equally good deals on Black Friday.

Enjoy your shopping, and the holiday season!

Feel free to leave a comment, and please come back often – I write and post every day!  And if you like what I have to say and how I say it, you’ll probably enjoy my novels as well.  They’re listed below, and you can read more about them on my improved website, designed and built by my son Don, http://www.randolphmase.com.  On my site, you’ll also find excerpts of my books that you can read – please check it out!

And to view updated blogs in real-time, go to http://plugalink.com or http://kadency.com – they’re both great sites!
