Enjoy Governors Island

To some people – particularly those who don’t live in New York – New York City is about Manhattan and Times Square and Broadway.  But there really are many other attractions and things to do in America’s largest city.  New York magazine features a guide to having fun on Governors Island, with these highlights:

  1. The Figment Interactive Sculpture Garden, with its full-scale replica of the head of the Statue of Liberty (above)
  2. The 200-year-old Castle Williams, now open to the public
  3. An 8-hole miniature golf course
  4. Eat and drink at Little Eva’s beer garden
  5. The Cooper-Hewitt indoor exhibition on graphic design
  6. See old-time baseball from the Gotham Base Ball Club of New York on designated Saturdays this summer.
