The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is Now Lighted!

The annual celebration surrounding the lighting of the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center did indeed happen last night.  A little about the tree first: it’s a 75-year old, 76-foot high, 47-foot diameter Norway spruce that had been growing in Shelton, Connecticut and barely survived Superstorm Sandy last year.  It’s been decorated with more than five miles of lights (30,000 bulbs) which with the star on top are the only decorations.  After the holidays, the tree is recycled and provided to Habitat for Humanity to build homes for the needy

The ceremony, broadcast on NBC and attended by an estimated  500,000 people, was hosted by Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker of NBC, and included performances by Mary J Blige, Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel, and of course the Radio City Rockettes.

Whether or not you watched the ceremony, the tree merits a personal visit…

  1. shopping Says:

You’ll need to provide various forms of identification, usually
a driver’s license plus one additional item (like a Social
Security or credit card). One of the biggest perks to doing your Christmas shopping early is the sense of relief you will feel after you have
bought all the presents for your friends and family
members. Online dog boutiques have made it possible for dog owners to buy all kinds of designer stuff which can provide magnificent and
    stylish looks to any dog.
