Ice Skating in Central Park

Skating in Central Park 2013

Wollman Rink in Central Park is more than 60 years old, having been built in 1949.  It’s a great place to skate, view the stars and, according to the Central Park website, “Feel the cold tingle of New York’s crisp winter air, listen to the music, and take in the incomparable surroundings as you glide (gracefully or not so) around the rink.”

New York radio station 106.7 Lite FM is making the experience even sweeter by offering free skating.  That’s right; this Saturday and Sunday, December 14 and 15, the first 1,000 guests to arrive at Wollman Rink will skate for free, including free skate rental.  They also offer giveaways, music, and lots of holiday cheer.  Get more information at

Sorry I haven’t been visiting much lately. Been so busy, but I always like what you share about New York. I miss my old town
